Course Overview
This course is a primer on palm oil and its global context. The course aims to provide a clear, non-technical overview of the palm oil industry and its impacts on our planet, ecology and economy. Jargon and technical terminology is avoided, as are detailed explanations or methodologies. Instead, this course is designed to provide the student with a broad, comprehensive introduction to the palm oil industry, its history, the current problems and issues, and the potential future of sustainable development.
The course is run exclusively online.
A course credit is required in this course to meet the requirements of Wild Asia’s RSPO Lead Auditor Plus Course.

Who is this Course for
The course is designed for auditors and basic learners. The course is conducted in English and does require good competency in the language. The course has been designed to provide the basic foundation knowledge to be able to understand the context of production standards as defined by the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).

If you have successfully completed all the course material you will be issued with a credit from Wild Asia @ Credly that will be made available to you.
